Dillingham Airfield Closure – Skydivers Rally Around Petition to Governor
By now you’ve probably heard about Hawaii DOT’s plan to terminate a longstanding lease agreement with the US Army and to vacate Dillingham Airfield completely, placing various aviation businesses and two skydiving centers under threat of closure.
With close friends, family members and former employees who presently call Dillingham Airfield home, Square One Parachutes is especially worried about the future of their operations. Skydive Hawaii has been a great business partner and sub-dealer for Square One products for many years and we hope the ongoing negotiations between Hawaii DOT and the US Army will ultimately bring forward a solution that will keep this airport open for public use.
One of our fellow skydivers, Ed Cope, has created a petition at Change.org which as of today has garnered support from more than 6K people.
